About Montana State Capitol
The Montana Historical Society provides free, self-guiding brochures for exploring one of the nation’s most beautiful Capitol buildings. The “People’s House” is home to an outstanding collection of Montana-inspired artwork, including Charles M. Russell’s masterpiece Lewis and Clark Meeting Indians at Ross’ Hole in the House chamber. Also enjoy historic murals by E.S. Paxson, Amédée Joullin, F. Pedretti’s Sons, and Eugene Daub, as well as statuary portraying some of Montana’s most notable citizens, and the Gallery of Outstanding Montanans.
